New houses win LABC Awards
The first two new build houses for rent by Bristol City Council have received a regional finalist in the South West LABC Awards, in the Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development category.
In addition this housing scheme was the winner of the Bristol Building Excellence Awards in the Best Housing category and was described as “an exemplary project, delivered in a spirit of partnership with the Building regulation and Standards Team”.
Mayor George Ferguson performed the launch ceremony and remarked” that these first phase of new homes will provide much needed accommodation for larger families”. He was joined by Councillor Daniella Radice, the Assistant Mayor for Neighbourhoods, who also remarked “I am really pleased to see the first of our new council houses now ready for tenants to move into”.
Mill House in Easton was the former site of a cluster of redundant garages owned by Bristol City Council, and the site is now making a positive contribution to the area with architecture featuring design points from the neighbouring Victorian houses.
