Key Facts
Client: North Bristol NHS Trust
Value: £578k
Sector: Commercial
Architect: Stride Treglown, Bristol
Programme: 15 weeks
Scope of Work: Fit-out of existing recently built Learning & Research Building to provide new Trust Head Quarter Executive offices
Works involved raised access floor and coverings, dry wall partitions, suspended ceilings, mechanical & electrical engineering, toilet and kitchen area facilities, automatic sliding doors.
This was a fast track project to enable the North Bristol NHS Trust to relocate from Frenchay Hospital to the Southmead site.
The works were made more challenging by the close proximity of other major projects – one for the new build Pathology 2 building, alterations to Pathology 1 building and a refurbishment of other premises. Joint use of access roads and parking was a major consideration.
Close liaison was therefore required between the other Main Contractors on a daily basis so that deliveries and disposal could be co-ordinated and synchronised lessening the impact upon hospital staff and normal hospital operation.
The result was that the project was successfully handed over on time and on budget.
